Many students face issues with their technology over the academic year, this can include many things but primarily is likely to be laptop-related generally.

Currently, students can apply to the hardship fund but this may not be appropriate for all students as not all will be in a state of hardship, but may still require help towards new technology costs. 

Similar to how students can already benefit from both the student engagement and travel funds the SU/University offers, it would be great to see a dedicated "Technology Support Fund" put into place.

Students have a lot to pay out each year, including course and accommodation costs, and so if tech problems occur this fund would help support all students (undergrads, post-grads & PhD) at the university.

The fund could be assessed on a case-by-case basis, whilst also hopefully relieving any excess pressure from the already in-place hardship fund which is available to students.
