Description

The Bar and Mooting Society at St Mary’s aims to provide members with information, opportunities and activities specifically aimed at a route to the bar. The society will hold internal moot competitions and participate in external moot competitions. Regular workshops will be run to offer assistance with mooting and develop those research and advocacy skills, with guest talks from barristers and judges. Mooting is useful for developing legal skills of analysis and interpretation, but also personal skills of argument and public speaking; which are not only essential at the Bar but within many other careers in and outside the legal profession. Most importantly of all, it's great fun!
